Who Was Rose
Biography
Rose Nonyameko Qeqe. Fondly known as MaDlamini was the daughter to Mountain Mbolekwa and Joanna Thwaku. Coming from a Catholic family, she completed her junior certificate a Marry Mount Secondary School, a great Catholic Convent.
She then pursued her passion in Nursing and enrolled Livingstone for her Nursing career, at that time, the SANC (South African Nursing Counsel), The statutory body and South African Nursing Association (Now operating as DENOSA), were very discriminatory according to the laws of Apartheid.
During her time at Livingstone, her friendships included Matrons, Administrative & Clinical Tutors, including Mrs Peter, Mrs Pityana, Mrs Maqhina, Mrs Cwomonda, Mrs Mabhece, and Mrs Lokufa, to name a few. They would be actively involved in planning special days and activities such as graduations. In her last year of training, she got married and did not complete her qualification, however, her passion for Health activities never died.
Together with Dan, they were coworkers in business and community development. She gave a helping hand to whoever came and was needy. A game changer Spiritually Mentally Emotionally Physically and Financially. A mentor and mother to the Rugby and cricket players, a donator advisor to health initiatives working hand in hand with her late sister Esme Tlou.
During her time, Rose was an advocate for access to Health, Economic Independence and Self-worth from your abilities.
